Preflop trainer
The most valuable information I’ve got while reading Holdem Poker for Advanced players were the charts of preflop hands. That was a real discovery for me… I’ve found that I was playing too many hands. If I only could calculate the losses that I had generated with the hands like Ace-Four offsuited!
Understanding the way I had to play preflop was very crucial for my benefits. That was a real discovery for me. I should have cried “eureka!” like Archimedes when I found the tables of hands power by Sklansky.
But this discovery brought me a new headache. There are 169 starting hands in holdem poker. And there are more than 50 hands that could be played by an adequate player in different cases. The problem was to learn those hands and the cases of their application. I hadn’t got enough experience to distinguish my position and evaluate the power of my hand related to the power of my opponents hands in every single situation in just a couple of seconds. If I wasn’t sure in the hand I had I had to open the tables (though I’ve scanned them and put in front of my monitor
), find the hand there, evaluate my position and make a decision. That was too hard.
So I had to learn the hands again and again… And I’m not a teenager ready to learn everything… So that was very hard for me.
Thanks God I’ve found very useful software that helped me so much. It’s so called preflop trainer made in Excel with the help of macros. I had no more need to spend the real money in order to learn the right hands. The trainer have made models of preflop for me and I had to choose my variant of conduct. Than the trainer have given me a mark and explained the right variant if I was wrong.
In just a week I had no more problems with my preflop playing in different situations at different kinds of tables. I’m so thankful to the guy that coded that soft that I feel I should donate him some money…
